Model F - Viewer
Vintage
collector gradeThe last model of bakelite viewers made by View-Master - 1960s. It's an internally lighted viewer yet can use a transformer. The image is magnified 5.5 times, same as the Model C and Model E, but unlike the model C and E, the Model F is self contained, lighted, not requiring a separate light attachment. A copy of the instructions are included. The collector grade Model F viewers 3Dstereo sells have NONE of these defects enumerated in the Caveat below, nor is there corrosion in the battery compartment. They are flawless. This one still has very shiny metal parts.
CAVEAT: Unfortunately, the Model F viewer had a design defect. The nibs in the inside front section (see good, complete nibs picture below) of the viewer that enable the back to firmly attach are frequently broken off and the result is the back of the viewer does not fit snugly nor securely. It rattles. In addition, because of improper closing of the viewer over the nibs, often a crack resulted in the back bottom where the coin slot is located (see bottom without crack picture).
If you use a transformer, you can only use the #14 or #245 incandescent bulbs and not the brighter LED bulb.
