Often called the white-nosed Coati, this member of the raccoon family forages for mice, lizards, eggs, carrion and insects during the daytime and sleeps in a favorite tree at night. They are quite intelligent. They growl, hiss and bark when alarmed, but also use high-pitched squeaks and whistles for normal communication . on average they weight 7 to 15 pounds, but males are much larger than females.
