The copyright date of 1954 is on this first issue of South Carolina state reels and this state was the first one to be produced by View-Master in the State series. In the years that followed, the packet design changed, but not the images on the SC1, SC2, SC3 reels. This first packet has its own packet number "SCP."
South Carolina is known for its shoreline of subtropical beaches and marsh like sea islands. Coastal Charleston is a historic city, defined by pastel-colored houses, Old South plantations and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War’s opening shots were fired.
